Movement director Ben Wright has been resourceful in finding ways to run within the theatre and achieve suspense on the spot. This is at its most successful in the slow-motion races, where running seems almost to yield to dance.

There's smart use of treadmills, slow-mo choreo and a speedy revolve, neon lighting and countdown clocks – a wealth of theatrical solutions that zip and thrill.

It’s down to movement director Ben Wright to inject momentum into the piece, keeping the performers in hectic motion throughout. Students scramble about in boisterous crowds, runners stretch, flex and nervously prowl before each race. Lining up on the starting blocks, they explode into striking tableaus, running on the spot in stylised slow motion.
